Riley

I'm experimenting with a different "look" to a portrait drawing.  Comments anyone?

Sweet Dreams, Baby N

You may recognize this drawing from a photograph I took awhile back.  It's been a favorite photo of mine, and I've been wanting to create a pencil drawing from it ever since I took the photograph, and now that I'm done with it, I'm glad I did.  I like how it looks as a drawing too.

Spring Baby

This baby bird chose our deck to stop and rest upon while learning to fly this weekend.  The girls were happy to encourage him (her?) in his flying lessons and soon, with parents keeping a close eye on him from a nearby tree, he flew off to the front of the house and then on to the neighbor's yard.  Happy flights, little bird!

Miss M

I couldn't resist taking a few impromptu photos of this little cutie.  She's got such a sweet smile, and her giggle was infectous!

Miss E turns 3

This Miss E celebrated her third birthday this weekend.  It's so much fun watching her grow with each photo session we take.  Happy birthday, dear Miss E!

Miss E turns 8

The lovely Miss E celebrated her 8th birthday with an adorable and yummy Littlest Pet Shop cake.  Happy Birthday, Miss E!

A Weekend for Birthday Celebrations

This was quite the weekend for birthday celebrations.  Not only did we attend three, I knew of three others being celebrated this weekend also!

At this one, while younger sister was making her wish, blowing out the candles and removing decorations from the top, older sister was still contemplating her wish.  Apparently she was taking a bit too long and younger sister decided to help her blow them out!

A Princess Luncheon

A princess luncheon is in order when the birthday princess is turning six!  Princess friends arrived in their finest gowns, decorated lovely crowns for themselves, and played Pin the Crown on the Princess.  A lunch of finger sandwiches, chocolate dipped strawberries, carrot sticks and jello was served in the royal dining room.  The princesses then adjourned to the sitting room where the opening of gifts took place, followed by a chorus of Happy Birthday and cake and ice cream back in the royal dining room.  If the noise level and giggling was any indication, I'd say a fun afternoon was had by all! :-)

Crocheted Baby Booties

How cute are these!  I found this pattern for these cute baby booties over the weekend and just had to make a pair!  I plan to make several in different color patterns and put them on Etsy.  Email me if you're interested in a pair for your cutie!

Merry Christmas to all!

I have finally finished all of my 2010 commissioned drawings that were ordered for Christmas and am now looking forward to enjoying the holidays with my family.   I will be posting a few of the drawings here after Santa comes, so as not to spoil any surprises, so stay tuned!  :)

The Spirit of Christmas

Here are a few of my favorite photos from this weekend.  May they put the spirit of Christmas in your heart as they did in mine!  :)

D Family

The first snow of the season is always pretty, even when that first snow is 6-7" of the HEAVY, WET kind that all comes down at once in less than an hour before a photo shoot!  It makes for for taking family photos a little chilly tho, especially when you factor in a brisk 32 degree wind blowing around you too!  I met this family of four at their home for a few warm, indoor shots, then we drove out to a neighboring barn for the rest. They were all such great sports, standing out there for a few quick photos when even I, in my heavy jacket, would have called it quits long before they did!  LOL!! ;o)  I'm glad they decided to stick with the original outdoor location plan, too.  I love their bright colors against the white barn siding.  And thanks, A & I, for putting up with the cold as long as you did.  You did great!!  :o)

Welcome Baby R

A month ago I took maternity photos for this family, and yesterday I finally had the honor to meet beautiful Baby R.  Everything about him is so perfect and sweet; the tiny fingers and toes, the innocence, the big yawns, the new-baby smell.  Welcome to the world, Baby R.
